I am a huge fan of outrageous fashion accessoires a and of Dirndl's. Too things normally don't get along well with each other. Dirndl's, at least among young teenagers and young adults often have the image of being "old" and "not fashionable" and only hillbillies of southern Bavaria wear Dirndls, so they say, but I want people to see that the dirndl can be fresh, young and stylish and, on top of it all, outrageous and fabulous. I searched for dirndl designers that design their dirndl to be more "couture" and by a total accident I found Ophelia Blaimer. Not really knowing what to expect I clicked her website. Her website isn't looking "extraordinary" like the one of the "Schatzi-Dirndl" label, but I wasn't there for the website anyway. I was there for the dresses and oh my gosh I found ART! All of her dirndls are very special, unique and looked so fabulous that I fell in love with the first sight. I really adore her way of combining tradition with modern fashion and how she uses fancy accessoires that underline the dresses, giving them the right touch. :D
But on the begative side, I discouvered how much her dresses were and they cost about tousands of euros (Cheapest one was about 1500!!!). And so ever owning a dress of Ophelia Blaimer's label will be forever a dream. ):
But to get away from all the babbling, I'll show you some of her designs...
